STUDY TIPS
Tips to get the most out of tutoring:
Review your notes, homework, exams, textbook and/or practice problems BEFORE tutoring begins. Mark any problems, concepts or anything you'd like to review. You can even take a photo and email or text your tutor directly.
Take good notes! Note-taking is a crucial part of learning.
Do your homework. (I'm sure everyone says that)
Quiz yourself. When quizzing yourself, do not look at the answers until you are finished with a problem set. Try testing yourself with 2-3 questions at time before looking at the answers when studying one topics. If studying for SATs/ACT/AP (a broader range of knowledge), complete an entire module of questions.
Try to explain concepts in your own words.
Create a notecard with formulas. Study the notecard paying special attention to trickier equations, and try to recreate the notecard from memory. Keep testing yourself by attempting rewrite the formulas from memory. An actual notecard works best (versus anything digital).
